Terms of Service

Effective date: July 6, 2026 (updated for guest access, room chat, predictions and minigames, user content, and clip consent controls)

By accessing or using Crowdnine (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Crowdnine. When you register, you must confirm that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will promptly delete it.

2. Accounts and Guest Access

You may browse and use some features of Crowdnine as a guest without an account. Certain actions — such as chatting, following, saving points, and going live — require you to create an account. Guest activity is temporary; if you create an account, some of your guest gameplay state (such as points and predictions) may be carried over.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Each person may maintain only one account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the Service without our prior written consent, or to create accounts or guest sessions at scale.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with any person or entity.

4. Watch Party Conduct

Crowdnine provides live watch parties with audio, optional video, text chat, soundboard sounds, and game interactions such as predictions, polls, and minigames. When participating in watch parties, you agree to:

  • Treat other participants with respect. Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind is prohibited.
  • Refrain from hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Not make threats of violence or engage in any form of threatening behavior.
  • Not broadcast excessively loud, disruptive, or offensive audio or video.

Spectators join watch parties without publishing camera or microphone streams unless they join the stage as a host or co-host. Live on-stage media is streamed in real time and may be clipped by a signed-in participant as described in Clips and Recorded Watch Party Media below. Violations reported by other users may result in moderation action.

5. User Content

You may create content on Crowdnine, including chat messages, wishlist entries, your bio, your profile photo, and clips. You are responsible for the content you create, and you must have the rights necessary to share it. Do not post content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or that otherwise violates these Terms. By posting content, you grant Crowdnine a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and share that content as needed to operate the Service. We may remove content and take moderation action for violations.

6. Clips and Recorded Watch Party Media

Crowdnine lets signed-in participants capture short clips from a watch party. The rules below explain what you agree to when you go on stage as a host or co-host:

  • Consent and opt-out: only on-stage participants who have consented are eligible to be captured in clips. You control this through the clip-consent setting in the app. If you opt out, your audio and video are excluded from clips from the moment you join a room. If you do not want your media to appear in clips, opt out or do not go on stage.
  • Who can create clips: clips can be created by signed-in participants. Spectators and guests join subscribe-only, do not publish camera or microphone streams, and are not captured in clips.
  • Public sharing: you understand and agree that clips can be shared publicly by link, so anyone with the link may view them.
  • What is captured: a clip captures the last several seconds (up to 30 seconds) of the watch party. Clips may include on-stage audio, on-stage camera video when video is used, profile pictures or avatars when video is off, room/game context, scores, live event information, a snapshot of recent room chat, and a speaking-activity timeline. Spectators' and guests' camera and microphone streams are not captured because they do not publish those streams.
  • Retention: clips are kept for a limited window (about 30 days) and then automatically deleted, unless the creator pins the clip, in which case it is kept until deleted.
  • A license, not ownership of your likeness: by going on stage while consenting to clips, you grant Crowdnine a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to capture, store, render, display, distribute, and share clips that include your on-stage media as described in these Terms.

To request removal of a clip that includes your on-stage media, report a public clip in the app and choose the privacy reason, or for anything else contact us at support@crowdnine.app. When we remove a clip in response to a privacy or erasure request, we delete the original clip and every saved copy of it, including stored media files. For any clip that has already been shared outside Crowdnine, we will take reasonable steps to notify others who hold or display it that you have requested its removal.

We do not create faceprints, voiceprints, perform speaker or biometric identification, or transcribe clip media. Do not create or share clips that are unlawful, infringing, harassing, or that otherwise violate the Acceptable Use and Watch Party Conduct terms above; we may remove any clip and take moderation action for violations. How clip media is captured, stored, and retained is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Points, Predictions, and Minigames

Crowdnine includes predictions, polls, minigames, points, streaks, and leaderboards for entertainment. These features are provided for fun and engagement only. Points, streaks, and leaderboard standings have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item of value, and cannot be transferred between accounts. Predictions and minigames are not betting, wagering, or gambling. We may adjust, recalculate, reset, or discontinue these features and any associated points at our discretion.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms of Service, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. You may also delete your own account at any time through the application settings.

9. Moderation Process

Violations may be reported by other users or detected by our team. In addition, you can block other users to stop interacting with them, and participants can vote to remove a disruptive user from a room. Moderation actions follow an escalation process:

  1. Warning: a notice that specific behavior violates our terms.
  2. Temporary suspension: account access is restricted for a defined period.
  3. Permanent ban: account is terminated and the user is prohibited from creating new accounts.

Severe violations (e.g., threats of violence, illegal activity) may result in immediate permanent suspension without prior warning.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Scores, schedules, and live event information are sourced from third-party sports data providers and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Crowdnine and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the application. Your continued use of Crowdnine after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
